Church Girls Movement

The Founder

Kolanda Douglas

Kolanda discovered her gift of writing and storytelling at an early age. She attended college to expand her knowledge and fine-tune her natural abilities. She has a Master of Science degree in Mass Media Arts and Journalism from Clarion University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication with a minor in English from the University of North Florida. She is truly a woman after God's heart. She shares her love of Christ through her radio show, The REAL Room, on PURE Radio, Jacksonville's Christian Station, and through encouragement and consistent mentoring of young men and women within the North Florida region.

In 2014, Kolanda became a Writing and Speaking Coach, providing high-quality writing and editing services and public speaking lessons for students, working professionals, and community and business leaders.

On March 13, 2017, Kolanda launched Church Girls Just Want to Have Fun after the long-awaited release of her debut book entitled the same. The movement was birth out of her struggle as a "church girl" to live according to Godly standards in a world that battled her standards. That war left Kolanda trying to discover how to enjoy salvation and live!

Additionally, Kolanda is an award-winning public speaker and certified life coach. Born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, she now resides in Jacksonville, Florida with her family. For information about Kolanda, visit
